Fun Times For DIGG At The Launch of Belfast Fashion Week
Belfast Fashion Week! Who would have thought that our shop DIGG Childrenswear would be involved in such an iconic event which is now in its twenty-fourth season? To say I am proud is an understatement and last Thursday did not disappoint as Eileen, Kiernan and I trotted off to Belfast and claimed our part in this amazing event. Let me take you through our day and give you all the gossip.
What to wear?
Of course, Eileen and I were thrown into a frenzied state with the thought of what to wear to such a fashionable event. We didn't scrub up too bad though as Eileen was super on trend with her Black and White blazer and Black leather look jeans from River Island. I wore Scotch & Soda Trousers and Shirt from The Snooty Fox Dungannon which was so comfortable and I know I will get lots of wear out of it.
What can I say about Kiernan Devlin. Only eleven years old and such a mature, well mannered and gorgeous boy. He was the perfect companion for Eileen and I and helped us in every way from carrying clothes behind scenes to helping us take pictures as well as being the best ambassador for DIGG that I could ever have hoped for.
How cool does he look in his Billybandit velvet blazer, Billybandit white shirt with bow tie, Scotch Shrunk Braces and Chinos and Tommy Bowe Boots. He certainly got a lot of attention from the Press when he stepped into the Bullitt Hotel
Cathy Martin doing her thing!
Marketing and PR expert Cathy Martin certainly knows how to plan and host a show. We were kept informed of all the key looks and trends as the models showcased the looks.
DIGG Childrenswear takes the catwalk
We wanted to showcase just a few key pieces from our Autumn Winter Collection for boys and girls. The little models were so cute and I was so proud when I saw them strut their stuff.
Theo wears Billybandit shirt and Scotch Shrunk braces with 3 Pommes burgundy chinos. His look is finished with a bow tie which is definitely a big trend for autumn winter. Valentina (Cathy's daughter) looked super cute in 3 Pommes cardigan and tulle skirt and accessorised perfectly with our pearl embellished faux collar which we know is going to be a major hit with the girls this season.
Next up are brother and sister Patrick and Lucy and aren't they just the coolest models.
This was only a teaser for whats to come in the main event in October and it certainly got us excited for planning all the outfits.
Our favourite looks for men and women
Although we were there to showcase the kids wear we couldn't help but be impressed by the fine array of fashion for men and women. My favourite look was definitely the red dress from Kevan Jon.
And my favourite look from the men's collection was definitely this black velvet tux blazer from Remus Uomo. I'm wondering could I persuade Gerard to wear this at Christmas.
Time To Eat
Spectating such a fine array of fashion is hungry work, and so on saying our goodbyes to the media and our little models, we decided it was time to reward ourselves for all our hard work. We ate at Miel et Moi on the Lisburn Road and wow it was scrummy. What a little gem of a place. I had to block out the endless lists of fabulous cocktails and remind myself that this was work trip and not a night out.
With our belly's full we hit the M1 and headed for Dungannon. My high heels were off and trainers on as we unloaded all the clothes at DIGG Childrenswear and returned Kiernan to his very patient and obliging Mum Sinead. We told her she should be super proud of her boy!
And there you have it - the highlights of our day. What a few months we have ahead as we plan for our big showcase on the catwalk on Thursday 26th October as well as our pop up shop which will be there on the night.
